Introduction [Biosketch]

Dr. Basumatary is specialized in Biological Anthropology and his doctoral research concentrated on the positive as well as negative bearings of physical activity level on physical health, taking ecological setup as a confounding factor. Dr. Basumatary has significant research experience in the of field of auxological research, especially pertaining to the nutritional dynamics of the adolescence and adulthood periods. Importance of sarcopenia or muscle loss among the marginalized communities of the hilly terrains of Northeast India was first felt and published by Dr. Basumatary. His expertise can be facilitated in the field of public health and epidemiology and also in community health.
