Introduction [Biosketch]

Dr. Juri Borah is an Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Anthropology at Gurucharan University, Assam. She previously held teaching positions on a contractual basis at Dibrugarh University, Dibru College, and Dhakuakhana College. With more than 13 years of teaching experience, her research interests include Reproductive Health, Menopausal Health, Anthropological Demography, Growth and Nutrition, Ethnomedicine, and Dermatoglyphics. Dr. Borah has published 50 research papers in peer-reviewed/Scopus-indexed journals and as book chapters, and presented at more than 20 National/International Seminars/Conferences. Additionally, she has co-edited five books, edited three volumes of Mankind (a peer-reviewed Departmental Journal), and organized a national webinar on urgent anthropological research in Northeast India. Dr. Borah is a Life Member of the Indian National Confederation and Academy of Anthropologists (INCAA), West Bengal, and a Founder Member of the United Indian Anthropology Forum (UIAF).
